Detroit – Cadillac today introduced the 2013 ATS, an all-new compact luxury sports sedan intended to challenge the world’s best premium cars. Developed on an all-new, lightweight vehicle architecture, Cadillac’s entry into the world’s most significant luxury car segment goes on sale in North America this summer.
The rear-drive ATS brings Cadillac’s blend of technologically driven performance, elegance and design to a new audience of spirited drivers. Its sophisticated driving experience is enhanced with Cadillac CUE, a comprehensive, in-vehicle user experience that merges intuitive design with industry-first controls and commands for information and media data.
The Cadillac ATS is one of the lowest curb weights in the segment – less than 1,542 kg. A broad lineup of engines – including two four-cylinders and a V-6 for North America – delivers strong power to the ATS and capitalizes on the car’s lightweight structure to complement its performance with efficiency. The engines include an all-new 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 273 horsepower (201 kW). At 136.6 hp/L, the new 2.0T is one of the most power-dense engines in the industry, topping engines from European competitors. The ATS will deliver peak highway fuel economy of less than 8 L/100 km. CUE, which stands for Cadillac User Experience, pairs entertainment and information data from up to 10 Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices, USBs, SD cards and MP3 players with a vehicle infotainment system that reduces complexity through customized information, voice commands and fewer buttons and larger icons. The vibrant LCD screen displays CUE’s home page, which resembles a smart phone’s screen by using large, easy-to-target icons to execute commands.
The ATS is offered as a well-equipped standard model and in Luxury, Performance and Premium Collections. A Bose® Cabin Surround audio system is offered on the standard model, as well as Luxury and Performance Collections. It is standard with the Premium Collection. A navigation system is also available with Luxury and Performance Collections and standard with the Premium Collection.

07/12/2011·2011 Motor Trend Truck Of The Year: Chevrolet Silverado HD
For Motor Trend’s 2011 Truck of the Year, we evaluated two Silverado HDs, one an extended-cab gas SRW and the other a crew-cab diesel dualie. So we had the opportunity to test out three of the four in the segment, making what isn’t supposed to be a straight competition into a straight competition. The editors had the chance to drive two Silverado HDs, two Super Duties, and two Sierra HDs back to back, to compare apples-to-apples gas and diesel models. We tested all of them with and without payload, on highway straights and on twisty roads, with and without trailers. Everyone on staff who drove the Silverado HDs immediately noticed what the engineers changed for 2011 — as well as what they left alone. Chevrolet developed new fully boxed frames for the HDs, plus there are more crossmembers, and the front frame segments are hydroformed. As a result, bending, torsional, and beaming stiffness were dramatically increased; vibrations were reduced; and ride and handling were improved.GM also increased the 6.6-liter’s horsepower to 397 and torque to 765, up by 32 and 105, respectively. Chevrolet essentially left its 6.0-liter Vortec V-8 alone, with its 360 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. The Vortec gas engine is backed by a Hydra-Matic 6L90, and the Duramax diesel by an Allison 1000. Both six-speeds received high praise from the staff.

The new model proposed by Chevrolet will make your debut on the next 28 January 2012 during the Daytona Iternational Speedway: a little sedan with bold and aggressive line, ispired by the Corvette ZR1.
The Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Prototype will be used by four team and it will for sure gain the audience. This car is drawen by Corvette engineer and developed by Chevrolet colleague with the help of Pratt & Miller specialist, while the car frame is signed by Riley, Coyote and Dallara. Instead the technical characteristic remain unknown.
Chevrolet besides says that the Corvette Daytona Prototype takes inspiration from IMSA GTP Corvette Prototype, realized by Hendrick Motorsports in 1984.
This last was been proposed with engine V6 turbo 3,4 or V8 5.7, then many evolutions follow to this model till the aggressive Eagle 700 in 1989.
The engineers made some modifications for install a V8 32 valvles of 10.2 litres. The Eagle 700 participated to 24 Hours Le MAns in 1990.

watching this video. But many people can do it! We say that the new Escalade use up as a Mini Couper S. Although the brands are competing in the American automotive market, the two protagonists of this speedup competition aren’t very competitors: on the one hand, there is the normal Class C, on the other hand there is the SUV Escalade.
The winner in the competition is the American big-SUV although his weight amount 2946 kg is more heavy than the Mercedes 2050 kg. The 6,2 V8 of Escalade, thanks to GM engine, wins against the 3,0 V6 with 231 CV of C300. Watch the video…
09/11/2011·Chevrolet Volt “Electric-First”
GM says it expects the Volt to be on sale by November of this year, with orders taken from July 27 at www.getmyvolt.com.
It plans to produce some 10,000 Volts by the end of 2011 and expand this to 30,000 in 2012. In analysis, these anticipated sales are not big numbers, particularly for what’s been touted as a paradigm shift in personal mobility. By contrast, over the past four years the Toyota Prius has averaged almost 13,000 sales each month. On the other hand, the first-generation Prius didn’t exactly go off like a rocket: Sales for its first two years, 2000 and 2001, amounted to 5562 and 15,556, respectively.
With regard to battery longevity, GM recently announced that the Volt’s 16-kWh lithium-ion pack will carry a warranty of 100,000 miles or eight years, whichever comes first. This is similar to conventional hybrid warranties, but still noteworthy in that the Volt’s Electric-First configuration puts more stress on its battery pack. Also, this will be the first significant use of lithium-ion technology in an automotive application. Only the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 and Mercedes S400 (this first, a mild hybrid; the second, a microhybrid) and Tesla’s micro-production of just a tad more than 1000 cars have used lithium thus far.
Fuel economy of the Volt’s 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine remains an open question, in that the government is still working out how to assess plug-in technology. As noted here at roadandtrack.com, this is a non-trivial problem, only obfuscated last year by GM’s claim of the Volt’s 230 mpg.
Briefly, gasoline consumption of a plug-in depends profoundly on how much the car travels in “charge-depletion” mode, loosely when it’s running EV, and how much of the trip is in “charge-sustaining” mode, i.e., once its gasoline engine comes into play. A while back, I demonstrated that any value from 34 mpg to 1230 mpg makes sense for the Volt, depending on how often it’s plugged in and how much it’s driven in between. More than ever before, the phrase “Your mileage may differ” will apply with the Volt and other plug-ins.

Team Penske is the first to sign up for the new twin-turbo V-6.
Chevrolet announced that it will compete in the 2012 IndyCar Series with a new twin-turbo direct-injected V-6 racing engine. Developed by GM and Ilmor Engineering, the new engine Chevy V-6 will be available to all entrants and his aluminum-block V-6 will have a displacement of up to 2.4 liters.
Says Tom Stephens, GM vice chairman, Global Product Operations: “Re-entering IndyCar racing will help us take our advanced engine technology to the upper bounds of what’s possible. And it will also provide a dynamic training ground for engineers, who’ll transfer the technologies we develop for racing to the products we sell to our customers. GM has become a recognized leader in implementing direct-injection technology in both 4-cylinder and V-6 engines.”
Roger Penske provided some deeper background: “Honda made the decision going into 2012 that if there was going to be a new engine they wanted to do that on their own and not utilize Ilmor, so at that point, being a shareholder of Ilmor and Chevrolet showed some interest.
